We have had the pleasure of working with Steve Monson on several home building and improvement projects over the past 10 years. He is an excellent builder and finish carpenter, always thinking about a project from a finishers eye knowing that the beginning of a building and how well that is planned and designed ultimately will lead to very clean and complete finished look. He has remodeled several homes we have lived in bringing them up to date and or improving a floor plan for more functional living space out of older floor plans.
In our Red Lodge home, he took a small overused rental home that was almost 100 years old and turned it into our dream in-town cabin. Working with us as we did some projects ourselves he shared ideas and finished the work that took his crasftsman skill and eye to complete. Opening rooms, and doorways, turning a bathroom totally around to make it feel bigger and more functional, adding a porch sauna room sharing the great idea of increasing storage space with a pull down stairway to the crawl space in the ceiling.
When Steve is working with you, he stops to visit but stays on task and only bills for time he is actually building. When he starts a project he finishes it and you always know where he is….not wondering if he is working on 3 projects at once leaving yours to go to another. I have hired cheap contractors and ended up paying more due to delays, and things they don’t tell you. Steve is honest, great communicator, keeps his project areas clean and charges a fair price for the excellent product he delivers. We will use him again and recommend him to anyone looking to remodel or build.
